About Our Client

Our client is a family owned and operated General Contractor that was established in 1921. They are headquartered in Oakbrook, Illinois and last year they brought in over $900 million dollars worth of revenue. Additionally our client serves a variety of different markets. Some of their projects include distribution centers, corporate offices, movie theaters, indoor sky diving facilities, and hospitality. There is terrific opportunity to grow within the company and each project manager can transition into different sectors of construction.

Job Description

  • Overseeing and directing projects from start to finish
  • Directs and supervises work of project administration staff and construction engineers, as well as works in partnership with project superintendents to establish operational priorities
  • Responsible for forecasting, tracking/reporting project costs/revenue and adherence to project estimates
  • Responsible for problem resolution involving labor disputes, staffing, construction materials, construction equipment and contracts/subcontracts administration
  • Coordinates with construction Safety Manager to ensure that projects are completed in accordance with established safety goals
  • Develop strong relationships with Superintendents, Subcontractors, and Assistant Project Managers
  • Maintain appropriate documentation through project such as RFI logs and change orders

The Successful Applicant

  • Experience in light commercial (Restaurant or Convenience Stores)
  • Experience in Ground Up Construction
  • 4+ years of experience working in the construction industry
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Stable work record
  • Knowledge in Construction Management or related field required
