About Our Client

Our client is a vertically integrated, full lifecycle real estate developer with an in-house general contracting arm. Based in Yonkers, NY, the firm specializes in the development and construction of Affordable Housing projects throughout NYC and the surrounding areas. Their work includes both ground-up construction and complex occupied rehabilitation projects for public agencies such as NYCHA, HPD, HDC, and other city entities.

Job Description

As Construction Project Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Oversee multiple affordable housing projects, including new construction and occupied rehabs
  • Provide leadership to Project Managers, Superintendents, and project teams
  • Ensure adherence to budgets, schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements
  • Serve as the primary liaison with NYCHA, HPD, HDC, DOB, and other agencies
  • Review and approve project schedules, GMPs, buyouts, change orders, and pay applications
  • Ensure compliance with MWBE, prevailing wage, Section 3, and other agency mandates
  • Identify and mitigate project risks related to cost, schedule, logistics, and occupancy
  • Participate in preconstruction planning, value engineering, and constructability reviews
  • Collaborate closely with development, estimating, and executive leadership teams

The Successful Applicant

A successful Construction Project Manager should have:

  • 10+ years of construction management experience, with a focus on Affordable Housing
  • Demonstrated experience working on NYCHA, HPD, or similar public agency projects
  • Strong background in occupied rehabilitation projects preferred
  • Experience working for a GC or developer with in-house construction operations
  • Strong knowledge of NYC building codes, DOB processes, and public-sector compliance
  • Proven leadership, communication, and team-building skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously
