Job Description

  • Quality Assurance Oversight: Monitor and assess all phases of construction projects to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and industry standards. Implement and maintain a comprehensive quality control program to address issues promptly and effectively.
  • Document Control: Develop and manage a systematic document control process for construction plans, specifications, submittals, and inspection reports. Maintain an organized record of all project documentation for easy access and reference.

  • Inspection and Testing: Coordinate and conduct regular inspections, audits, and testing of materials, workmanship, and processes to verify compliance with contractual requirements and quality standards. Address any identified deviations and implement corrective actions as necessary.

  • Safety Compliance: Collaborate with the safety team to ensure that all construction activities adhere to safety protocols, regulations, and industry best practices. Identify potential safety hazards and work with relevant stakeholders to mitigate risks.

  • Subcontractor Management: Oversee the quality control efforts of subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors involved in the construction projects. Ensure their work aligns with project specifications and quality standards.

  • Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve any quality-related issues that arise during construction promptly. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop and implement effective solutions.

  • Reporting and Communication: Generate comprehensive quality control reports, including progress updates, non-conformance reports, and corrective action plans. Communicate quality-related matters to project teams, management, and clients as needed.

  • Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the understanding of quality control principles and practices among project personnel. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting best practices and lessons learned.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all construction activities adhere to relevant local, state, and federal regulations, codes, and standards. Stay up-to-date with changes in regulations and requirements that may impact construction quality.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience (5-10 years) in construction quality control, with a focus on public projects.
  • Strong analytic, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong understanding of quality control principles and practices within the construction industry - in-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, codes, and regulations.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with diverse project teams and stakeholders.
  • Certifications such as Certified Construction Manager (CCM), Quality Control Manager (QCM), or equivalent are desirable.
  • Proficiency in using construction management software and document control tools.
