This general contractor continues to pave the way for their clients with award winning construction projects. They had an annual revenue of $250M+, and already have well over $350M in their backlog for 2022. With the current construction market the way it is, they are continuing to win JV projects with large contractors in the area and have completed work in healthcare, industrial, wastewater treatment, hospitality and some special public projects.

Job Description

The responsibilities of the Construction Superintendent include:

  • Oversee all phases of the construction project through completion
  • Direct all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to original and edited plans and specifications.
  • Coordinate with office staff for timely completion of project
  • Handle material delivery
  • Attend owner meetings and report back on progress of project
  • Prepare and maintain construction schedule, identify, and solve problems that may impede schedule and/or costs.
  • Order materials, manage lead times to maintain schedule, and schedule inspections as necessary throughout the process.
  • Comply with the objectives of the OSHA Safety and Loss Control Program.
  • Promote and ensure job site safety, encourage safe work practices, and rectify job site hazards immediately.
  • Maintain positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and other colleagues.
  • Supervise completion of a final punch lists for timely building turnover.
  • Adhere to established emergency policies and procedures.
  • Perform all Quality Control inspections

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate for the role as a Superintendent will have the following skills:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of construction experience
  • Experience with projects over $3 million contract value, experience with parking garages and wastewater treatment a major plus
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications
  • Competent and understanding of safety and OSHA rules
  • OSHA 10 or 30 card
  • Establish a teamwork atmosphere for each project between all trades personnel and management
  • Should be proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and Procore or similar software
  • Must be able to read plans, takeoff quantities and reference specifications
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Need to demonstrate through experience that they can oversee construction projects as well as oversee other construction personnel in their responsibilities
  • Must possess excellent communication skills
