About Our Client

Our client is a vertically integrated, full lifecycle real estate developer with an in-house general contracting arm based in Yonkers, NY. The firm specializes in Affordable Housing construction throughout NYC and the surrounding areas, delivering both ground-up new construction and complex occupied rehabilitation projects for public agencies including NYCHA, HPD, HDC, and other city entities.

Job Description

As Construction Superintendent, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Oversee all on-site construction activities from start through project completion
  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and daily site operations
  • Enforce safety standards and maintain a clean, organized job site
  • Coordinate inspections with DOB, NYCHA, HPD, and other governing agencies
  • Ensure work complies with plans, specifications, and quality standards
  • Lead daily site meetings, toolbox talks, and coordination efforts
  • Maintain project schedules and proactively address delays or conflicts
  • Manage logistics for occupied rehabilitation projects with minimal tenant disruption
  • Track manpower, deliveries, and site progress reports
  • Work closely with Project Managers and Project Executives

The Successful Applicant

A successful Construction Superintendent should have:

  • 7+ years of experience as a Superintendent on multi-family or affordable housing projects
  • Experience with NYCHA, HPD, or other public-sector projects strongly preferred
  • Background in occupied rehabilitation projects a plus
  • DOB Superintendent License preferred, but not required
  • Strong understanding of NYC building codes and DOB inspections
  • Proven ability to manage subcontractors and multiple trades
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
