About Our Client

Our client has been in business over 120 years and has a global and diversified client base spanning across all continents. With it roots in Europe, they have aggressively pursued the US and North American market over the last 30 years seeing significant growth and market penetration. With current operations in the US delivering over $150m a year in revenue, they are looking to find a Controller to take full ownership over the Accounting & Finance operations for the business, managing a team of 10+ people within the corporate accounting department and across 3 manufacturing plants. This person will report into the US SVP and Global CFO in the UK.

Job Description

Responsibilities within this controller position will include:

  • Provides leadership and general supervision - sets clear performance goals and objectives and manages all personnel processes related to the team
  • Coordinates with group tax and treasury manager
  • Prepares and issues required financial reports on a weekly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Proactively drives and influences improvements in financial control, cash management and reporting
  • Oversees the preparation of the annual budget and actively assists all business areas as budgets are prepared. Monitors and reports on performance to budget throughout the year
  • Participates in strategic planning processes and reports to Group
  • Oversees and participates in all company financial and benefit audits and interfaces with auditors to ensure a timely and efficient audit process
  • Oversees payroll and ensures all profit sharing and bonuses are calculated and paid as directed
  • Coordinates corporate income tax filings and works with external auditors to coordinate the preparation of federal and state tax returns for the US Operations
  • Liaises with auditors, lawyers and tax advisors to ensure effective local compliance
  • Identifies and drives opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA or CMA qualified with ten years plus experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience of forming and leading a high performing team
