About Our Client

This client is a leading, multi-billion dollar investment conglomerate running, operating, and servicing its portfolio of varying assets. Due to strong organic growth and acquisitions, this client is looking for a skilled and experienced controller to help continue the momentum. This Controller will be responsible for spearheading the entire accounting and finance processes and projects for the US and Canada.

Job Description

  • Collaborate with external auditors to provide support and assistance as needed
  • Manage external accounting service providers
  • Lead month-end close to ensure proper preparation of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Review the monthly financial results and the analysis of P&L in terms of entity and consolidation
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and SEC reporting guidelines
  • Work with internal stakeholders including the tax and asset management teams
  • Train, develop, and mentor staff
  • Contribute to technical accounting projects, including development of portfolio-wide accounting policy

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA required
  • 5+ years of public accounting experience in Big 4
  • Strong knowledge of accounting, budgeting and cost control principles
  • Ability to analyze accounting and financial data, execute analysis and prepare forecasts
  • Ability to effectively lead and mentor others
  • Management experience required
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and SEC regulations
