Controller - Multi- Million Dollar Manufacturer - Wood Dale, IL

Controller Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation and timely delivery of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, along with daily reconciliations and tracking key performance indicators.
• Develop, refine, and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial models to align with business goals and strategy.
• Evaluate financial performance to pinpoint opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements.
• Supervise cost accounting functions, ensuring precise tracking of labor distribution, material usage, and production costs.
• Maintain and enhance the standard cost system to reflect production activities accurately.
• Provide financial insights into pricing strategies, profitability analysis, and inventory management.
• Collaborate with operations and production teams to enhance manufacturing efficiency and reduce waste.
• Conduct detailed variance analysis on production costs and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure accurate inventory valuation and participate in cycle counts or annual physical inventory audits.
• Maintain compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and relevant industry standards.
• Implement and monitor strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Coordinate external audits by preparing necessary documentation and facilitating the process.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accountants and financial analysts.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and process improvement within the department.
• Work closely with divisional leadership to fulfill financial reporting requirements.
• Serve as a financial advisor to company leadership, providing insights to support decision-making.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and proactively address challenges.
