This position has very high exposure to senior leadership, working directly alongside the President and collaborating cross-functionally with senior leadership. This individual will also be overseeing a team of two individuals!Job DescriptionController Responsibilities:Prepare and deliver accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, as well as daily reconciliations and KPI tracking.Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support business strategy and planning.Analyze financial performance to identify areas for cost optimization and process enhancements.Oversee cost accounting operations, ensuring accurate tracking of production costs, material usage, and labor distribution.Maintain and evaluate the standard cost system to ensure precision and consistency with production activities.Provide strategic insights into product pricing, profitability, and inventory management.Partner with production and operations teams to improve manufacturing efficiency and minimize waste.Conduct variance analysis on production costs, addressing and resolving discrepancies.Ensure accurate inventory valuation and assist in cycle counts or annual physical inventory audits.Ensure adherence to GAAP, tax laws, and industry-specific regulations.Establish and maintain strong internal controls to protect company assets.Coordinate and support external audits, providing necessary documentation and assistance.Lead, supervise, and mentor a small team of general accountants and/or analysts.Encourage a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth within the team.Act as a key business partner with divisional leadership to meet reporting requirements.Serve as a trusted advisor to company leadership on financial matters.Collaborate with various departments to resolve issues and address challenges as they arise.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
