As they continue to grow and expand, they are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Cost Accountant to join their finance team

Job Description

  • Cost Analysis and Reporting: Prepare and analyze cost reports, including standard costing, variance analysis, and profitability assessments. Provide insights and recommendations to improve cost-efficiency and financial performance.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor budget performance and analyze variances to support financial planning and decision-making.
  • Cost Allocation: Track and allocate costs related to production processes, including materials, labor, and overhead. Ensure accurate cost distribution across various departments and projects.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory costing, including the valuation of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods. Conduct periodic inventory audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Financial Controls: Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and accounting policies. Assist with the development and implementation of cost control procedures.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain comprehensive and accurate cost accounting records. Prepare and present financial reports to management as needed.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within cost accounting practices and contribute to the development of more efficient workflows.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in cost accounting or a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Basic understanding of cost accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
