Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Lead multiple complex projects and assignments using strong critical thinking skills.
  • Design manufacturing processes, including fixture design (SolidWorks) and tooling selection, for precision components.
  • Implement quality systems and gauging methods to support efficient production.
  • Develop machining and assembly workflows involving CNC mills, lathes, grinding, and broaching operations.
  • Program CNC machines using G & M-Code, CAM software (such as Mastercam), and macro programming.
  • Apply GD&T principles to ensure proper work holding, machining, and inspection methods align with design intent.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to source and validate tooling and equipment.
  • Promote standardization through process benchmarks, core competency teams, and documented best practices.
  • Mentor junior engineers and production staff to support team growth and knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives with a focus on LEAN manufacturing practices.

The Successful Applicant

Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing engineering, or related field preferred
  • Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and design tools is preferred
  • Understanding of CNC machining processes and metal cutting techniques
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and improve manufacturing operations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with fixture and gage design and application
  • Solid grasp of GD&T concepts and applications
  • Knowledge of Lean principles, PFMEA, capability studies, and gage R&R
  • Excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail and organization
