My client is seeking a dynamic, highly experienced engineering leader to oversee and elevate their engineering organization across multiple U.S. sites. This executive-level role will be responsible for guiding engineering strategy and execution across product design, advanced development, and continuous improvement efforts. Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for engineering teams across multiple U.S. locations
  • Oversee a diverse group of engineering segments, including Product Development, Advanced Firearm Design, and Advanced R&D (e.g., lasers, optics, materials, electronics)
  • Lead a team of 5 direct reports: Chief Product Engineers (3), Director of Advanced Firearm Design, and Director of Advanced Technologies
  • Manage and mentor an extended team of approximately 40 engineers, including product, test, and prototype engineers
  • Drive innovation across new product development and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Foster collaboration between site-based teams and global functions to ensure alignment and execution
  • Travel regularly to engineering and manufacturing sites to maintain a strong connection with team operations and projects
  • Act as a key contributor to strategic decisions in technology direction, product portfolio, and resource planning

The Successful Applicant

Ideal Candidate:

  • 15+ years of engineering experience with at least 5+ years in a senior leadership role
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills
  • Proven track record in managing multi-site or global engineering teams
  • Background in firearms, weapon systems, aerospace, or defense strongly preferred
  • Deep understanding of product development lifecycles, design for manufacturability, and innovation in complex systems
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
