My client is a reputable housing authority with an existing and strong project pipeline across the Greater Boston area. Being one of the most awarded housing authorities in the US, growth is constant and the team is currently looking for a Deputy Director of Development to join the company.

Job Description

The Deputy Director of Planning & Development will be responsible for providing technical, financial, and managerial oversight of the Authority's planning and consulting projects including rehabilitation, modernization, redevelopment and development of deeply affordable housing in Cambridge and elsewhere. The individual will need to assist in identifying and securing funds for the project, providing quality review and assurance of pre-design, design and bidding phases of the projects to ensure compliance with agency goals and objectives, and with federal and state requirements. The position oversees and mentors staff as well as outside contractors and architectural firms.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate for the Deputy Director of Planning & Development will have:

  • Bachelor degree in Real Estate, Construction or related
  • Master degree in Real Estate Development preferred
  • 3+ years experience in project management and real estate development
  • Exposure to affordable housing, LIHTC underwriting, financing and process mgmt.
  • Ability to conduct permitting, entitlements and financing of projects
  • Ability to run processes independently and in a team
