The Design Engineer will join the R&D department, collaborating with Designers, Product Managers, Technicians, Quality and other Engineers on a daily basis. In this role you will utilize Solidworks to complete designs for new product as well as improvements for legacy products.

Job Description

The Design Engineer will:

  • Lead the design and development of new products and improvements to existing ones.
  • Create and review SolidWorks models and drawings with proper GD&T and tolerance analysis.
  • Perform advanced engineering analyses (FEA, motion, CFD, heat transfer) and review results from other engineers.
  • Manage engineering changes, assemblies, and BOMs within the PLM system.
  • Develop test plans, coordinate testing, analyze data, and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Support DFM, collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers, and assess inspection data.
  • Contribute to IP development, process improvements, and 5S activities.
  • Follow all safety, ISO, and proper handling procedures.

The Successful Applicant

The Design Engineer should have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 2+ years of experience in an R&D environment
  • Proficient in CAD - Solidworks is highly preferred
  • Hands on experience with mechanical assembly
  • Experience completing complex analysis such asFEA, kinematic, dynamic motion, etc.
  • Experience using a PLM system, preferably Agile
  • Proficient with tolerance stack software
  • Understanding of GD&T and standard inspection methods
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Suite
