Description
The Development Associates job is to quickly, through a calculated approach, ascertain the key variables and to understand how they affect the economics of a project. It is the Associate's responsibility to incorporate these sensitivities into the project proforma and other reports. Create pro forma projections and discounted cash flow models for acquisition and development opportunities in various stages of operation.

Assist with site research, in-depth market analysis and development scenario proforma analysis related to new acquisitions.

Build and maintain financial models for existing development projects including various debt and equity capital structures.

Prepare investment packages for presentation.

Conduct market research and comparative analysis.

Provide influential participation in the Development team with firm's ground-up development projects across the US

Collaborate with the Director of Development for development related responsibilities.

Assist Acquisitions team with projects relating to the research, acquisition, and investment of existing multifamily properties.

Coordinate on design, construction, and contractors while ensuring projects are on time and on budget.
The Successful Applicant
To apply please first ensure you meet the below qualifications:
- BA degree at a minimum and 3+ years experience in the real estate industry with 2 year minimum in Multifamily development (affordable housing preferred but not required).

Excellent understanding of financial modeling is a requirement (the company utilizes Microsoft Excel for financial analysis).

Experience and knowledge in multifamily development and underwriting is required.

Advanced proficiency in Excel, including building models and data analysis. Microsoft Project experience desired.

A strong analytical thought process with sound judgement and a keen attention to detail.

Ability to be a self-started and work effectively in a small team and contribute to areas beyond the direct scope of responsibility.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Must be proficient in power point/preparing investment packages
-
Must have strong project management skills, including the ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
