Director of Accounting & Operations

An entrepreneurial residential real estate platform is seeking a Director of Accounting to take full ownership of its finance engine during a pivotal operating phase. This is a high‑impact role for a hands‑on accounting leader who can bring clarity to cash flow, lender reporting, and executive decision‑making within a lean, autonomous environment.As Director of Accounting, you will report directly to senior leadership and act as the primary owner of the accounting function across a multi‑entity real estate portfolio. You will be responsible for both operational execution and elevating the quality of financial insight provided to the business.

Key responsibilities include:

• Owning the monthly close across multiple legal entities, including rental operations and home sale transactions
• Producing clear, actionable management reporting for the CEO and investors, with a strong emphasis on cash flow visibility
• Managing lender and investor reporting, including compliance packages and ad‑hoc data requests
• Overseeing property management accounting outputs and ensuring accuracy across rent, churn, and operating metrics
• Leading and developing a small internal accounting team while improving processes and controls
• Driving systems improvement and optimization, including property management and general ledger platforms
• Acting as the day‑to‑day finance partner to leadership, proactively identifying risks, issues, and opportunities
