Job Description

  • Lead the development, implementation, and optimization of co-manufacturing strategies to ensure the production of high-quality products on time and within budget.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new co-manufacturing partners to meet production demands and capacity growth.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts, SLAs, and pricing agreements with co-manufacturing partners.
  • Oversee day-to-day co-manufacturing operations, ensuring efficient production, cost control, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Manage capacity planning, resource allocation, and production scheduling in collaboration with co-manufacturing partners.
  • Monitor production KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize operations and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (e.g., R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, Sales) to ensure alignment of co-manufacturing goals with overall company objectives.
  • Partner with quality control and compliance teams to ensure that all products meet food safety regulations, industry standards, and company quality specifications.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with external co-manufacturing partners, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and problem resolution.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and audits to assess and enhance co-manufacturers' operational performance.
  • Work closely with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure the timely delivery of raw materials to co-manufacturers and the on-time shipment of finished goods.
  • Manage inventory levels and help forecast demand to optimize co-manufacturing capacity.
  • Monitor and control co-manufacturing budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness while maintaining high product quality.
  • Analyze financial reports, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement solutions to optimize spend.

The Successful Applicant

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Food Science, or a related field. A Master's degree or MBA is a plus.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in operations, co-manufacturing, or supply chain management in the food manufacturing industry.
  • Proven leadership experience, with a track record of managing cross-functional teams and driving operational excellence.
  • Strong understanding of food manufacturing processes, regulatory compliance (FDA, USDA, etc.), and quality assurance standards.
  • Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with external partners.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial management, budgeting, and cost optimization.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
