The firm has been around over 100 years and due to increase of project pipeline have been growing tremendously. Their construction projects are throughout the United States in Illinois, Colorado, Arizona, Nebraska, Iowa, Ohio, Georgia, Carolinas, Texas, and Nevada.

DescriptionMy client is seeking an Director of Design Build for construction projects specifically within design-build light industrial and cannabis. This role will report directly into and work alongside the Project Executives & other senior leadership. The role of the Director of Design Build will include the following:

  • Oversees the development of construction, service, warranty, and purchasing meetings, training sessions, and seminars designed to enhance productivity, quality controls, and cost management
  • Responsible for ensuring management team members comply with standards, rules, and regulations issued by OSHA/Safety standards
  • Establish and maintain operating procedures designed to provide guidelines and safety standards to all construction team members
  • Oversees the construction process and project managers to ensure quality workmanship and customer satisfaction
  • Direct implementation and execution of construction, warranty policies
  • Ensure the various construction operations are secure and maintain all required and necessary licensing, permits, and insurance
  • Provides leadership, direction, and guidance in construction procedures, building codes, estimating, budgeting, scheduling, and safety practices
  • Analyze monthly reports including budget reserves, overages, expenses and write-offs for each new home contract
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction and oversight
  • Recruit, hire, manage, and develop a quality team capable of carrying out needed construction and warranty initiative

The Successful Applicant

In return for a competitive compensation package, the successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Bachelors Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Architecture.
  • 15+ years of successful construction project management experience on diverse projects. 5+ years of responsible managerial experience. Experience on multiple successful Design/Build projects
  • Knowledge of PROLOG, Navisworks, Modelogix and BIM systems helpful
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of construction engineering principals: materials, methods, sequencing, scheduling, and estimating
  • Strong knowledge of construction industry including laws, contracts, accounting and business
  • Understanding of insurance and related issues including liability aspects and claims avoidance
