This role will be an integral part of advancing the company's capabilities further by retaining their future projects through to COD. The portfolio is utility-scale solar, storage and wind projects across ERCOT, MISO and the desire to expand into WECC too.Job DescriptionThe Director of Engineering (Renewable Energy) will be responsible for:Coordinated with Project Developers during pre-construction phase, ensuring a successful handover from development team.Create Solar and BESS onsite inspection and testing programsCreate Solar and BESS balance-of-plant scope of work. Implemented lessons program for regular scope revisions.Organize and implement Requests for Proposal.Spearhead contract negotiations, collaborating with development, legal, technical, and environmental teams to ensure stakeholder requirements were achieved.Guide the detailed engineering phase and consulted with internal subject matter experts to ensure technical excellence.Provide leadership to contractors, specialty subcontractors, and the independent quality control field team.Form strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure positive collaboration and project success.Conduct comprehensive project risk analysis, maintaining and mitigating risk registers.Present relevant status updates to senior leadership, facilitating informed decision-making.Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and produce monthly financial reports.Coordinate with OEMs and procurement teams to specify, track, and deliver project long lead equipment.Utilize critical path schedule analysis to assess and implement schedule relief measures.Primary liaison with interconnection utility and regional ISO.
