Director of Estimating - Columbia, MD

My client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Estimating / Chief Estimator to lead their estimating department across their Maryland and California offices. This individual will be responsible for overseeing a team of six estimators and senior estimators, managing the delegation of work, and ensuring the timely and accurate completion of multiple bids in a fast-paced environment. As a key member of the senior leadership team, this person will work closely with the President to drive the company's growth and efficiency in estimating operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  Lead and manage the estimating team, providing mentorship and oversight to ensure high-quality work.

  Oversee and delegate work across multiple bids, maintaining efficiency in a high-volume estimating environment.
• 
  
  Develop and refine estimating processes to enhance accuracy, speed, and competitiveness.
• 
  
  Work closely with leadership and project teams to ensure estimates align with project goals and client expectations.
• 
  
  Analyze and evaluate bid documents, drawings, and specifications to prepare detailed estimates.
• 
  
  Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to ensure accurate cost assessments.
• 
  
  Play a crucial role in strategic decision-making and long-term planning for the estimating department.
