About Our Client

Growing insurance company in Hartford, CT is looking for an HR Director to join their team. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director of HR will oversee a team of two HR professionals and play a pivotal role in shaping our company culture and organizational development. This position is located in Hartford 3 days a week in office. $150k-$175k + bonus and great benefits.

Job Description

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business objectives of the company.
  • Lead and manage all aspects of the HR function, including talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, compensation and benefits, and employee development.
  • Partner with senior leadership to provide strategic HR guidance and support on organizational design, workforce planning, and talent management.
  • Drive employee engagement and retention efforts by fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of employee compensation and benefits programs.
  • Manage the HR budget and resources effectively to meet business needs and objectives.
  • Lead and mentor the HR team, providing coaching, guidance, and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support company-wide initiatives and projects.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in HR to continuously improve HR processes and practices.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business objectives into HR initiatives.
  • Experience working in the insurance industry or a similar field is preferred.
