Job Description

  • Lead the establishment of HR operations for a luxury Italian retail company's US operations, serving as the inaugural HR hire in the region.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives, fostering a culture of excellence, integrity, and inclusivity.
  • Oversee the end-to-end recruitment process, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding top talent, ensuring alignment with the company's brand and values; recruiting for both retail and corporate populations.
  • Design and implement compensation and benefits programs tailored to attract and retain high-caliber employees within the competitive retail industry.
  • Create and administer performance management systems to drive employee development, engagement, and retention.
  • Establish HR policies, procedures, and compliance protocols in accordance with US employment laws and regulations, while maintaining alignment with the company's global standards.
  • Provide guidance and support to management and employees on HR-related matters, including employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive initiatives related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), promoting a diverse and welcoming workplace environment.
  • Lead training and development programs to enhance employee skills and competencies, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Utilize HR analytics and metrics to evaluate HR effectiveness, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, offering insights and recommendations on HR-related strategies and initiatives to drive business success.

The Successful Applicant

  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience.
  • Fluent in Italian
  • Senior HR leadership experience in luxury retail, preferably with US market entry expertise.
  • Must be willing to travel to the company's retail stores.
  • In-depth knowledge of US labor laws and experience establishing HR policies.
  • Proven success in full-cycle recruitment, compensation, and benefits design.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and DEI initiative implementation experience.
  • Proficiency in employee relations, training, and HR analytics.
  • Bachelor's degree required; HR certification preferred.
