Job Description

As the Director of Operations and Manufacturing - Americas, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Direct manufacturing engineering and operations across the Americas, achieving financial goals through cost savings, quality enhancements, lean practices, integration of acquisitions, and strategic outsourcing.
  • Create and implement operational strategies by evaluating industry trends, defining key performance metrics, and refining production and customer service models to align with corporate objectives.
  • Set clear goals and performance indicators across engineering and operations, ensuring accountability at all leadership levels.
  • Promote a culture centered on safety, continuous improvement, and operational efficiency, ensuring consistent, on-time performance across all sites.
  • Lead initiatives in lean manufacturing and Six Sigma to streamline workflows, control inventory, and uphold top-tier quality standards.
  • Manage capital investments, budget planning, and operational initiatives to reduce cost fluctuations and meet performance targets.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing manufacturing engineering team, standardizing best practices, processes, and inspection protocols.
  • Facilitate smooth production launches for new products by defining manufacturability standards and establishing clear operational guidelines.
  • Cultivate team growth through coaching, targeted development plans, and fostering an environment that supports employee engagement and skill-building.
  • Oversee safety programs, facility upgrades, and 5S efforts, while managing material flow, shipping/receiving, and equipment maintenance processes.
  • Track operational performance, implement corrective actions when needed, and drive ongoing process improvements for sustained excellence.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Director of Manufacturing and Operations should have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related business discipline.
  • 15+ years of experience within manufacturing and operations.
  • 10+ years of leadership experience.
  • Proven leadership capabilities in a manufacturing environment - foundry experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and industry regulations.
  • Excellent strategic planning and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and lead teams effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
  • Ability to travel around 50% of the time.
