About Our Client



A growing manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Director of Operations to lead core operational functions-including production, planning, inside support teams, and logistics-with a strong emphasis on efficiency, quality, and Lean/continuous improvement. This role oversees day‑to‑day operational performance while driving long‑range modernization initiatives to support company growth.

Job Description

    • Develop and execute an operational strategy aligned with corporate goals, balancing financial resources, staffing, capacity, and customer requirements
    • Lead, organize, and optimize the activities of production, inside support functions, shipping, and receiving to achieve performance targets
    • Establish and continuously refine standard policies, workflows, and operating procedures for all operational groups
    • Drive continuous improvement through Lean principles, focusing on waste reduction, process flow, throughput, and on-time delivery
    • Build and develop a high‑performing team by fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, problem‑solving, and professional growth
    • Monitor quality, scheduling, and customer satisfaction metrics, escalating risks and implementing corrective actions as needed
    • Maintain open communication across the organization to ensure alignment on priorities, capacity, challenges, and goals
    • Conduct routine performance reviews with direct reports to ensure objectives are delivered efficiently and cost‑effectively
    • Provide operational reporting, analysis, and recommendations to senior leadership
    • Support cross-functional initiatives and perform additional duties as needed to strengthen operational performance

Technical & Experience Requirements

  • Experience in a custom, engineered-to-order, build‑to-order, or job‑shop manufacturing environment
  • Strong working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, including production planning and materials flow
  • Demonstrated leadership in Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement systems, and operational excellence methodologies
  • Proven ability to lead high‑quality, cost‑effective manufacturing operations with a strong sense of urgency and ownership
  • Track record of problem solving, with the ability to quickly identify issues and remove obstacles to execution
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with reporting tools is a plus



Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related discipline (Master's preferred)
  • Minimum of 7 years of operations leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Successful history implementing Lean/CI tools and elevating operational performance
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence, motivate, and develop teams
  • Excellent analytical and strategic planning skills
