Utilizing your strong background in CNC Machining, the Director of Operations will be tasked with transforming our client's plant from a mid-sized, family owned manufacturer, into a modern, efficient aerospace supplier. The Director of Operations will head up all internal operations of this plant which is a specific business unit of a much larger, Midwestern conglomerate

About Our Client

Our client is an aerospace supplier of complex parts who was a family-owned company up until a year and a half ago. The Director of Operations will be tasked with taking the owner's place at the head of the facility following his recent departure. The Director of Operations is also exposed to senior leadership within the larger conglomerate for more opportunities for further growth.

Job Description

  • Utilize background in CNC Machining (Mills, Lathes, Grinding Machines) to troubleshoot production issues on the floor
  • Manage 6 direct reports, and over 100+ indirect reports
  • Handle P&L responsibilities, be an active part of the leadership strategy team
  • Hand's On Role - lead by example
  • Design Fixtures and Jigs in Solid-Works
  • Troubleshoot machinery programming - do not need to be an expert.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, seeking ways to be more efficient and optimize cost savings opportunities
  • Identify production problems and present creative solutions to Senior Leadership
  • Communicate with customers and regularly perform DFMA

The Successful Applicant

  • Associates Degree or Higher Required
  • 7+ years experience in a CNC environment
  • 5+ Years of Leadership Experience (Experience of over 100+ indirect reports highly preferred)
  • Extensive experience with SolidWorks
  • "Hands On" Mentality, not afraid to get your hands dirty
  • Experience with fixture design, Jig creation, and DFMA
  • GD&T Experience
