About Our Client

A rapidly growing development firm based in Texas that develop projects from inception to NTP. This role will be an integral part of advancing the company's capabilities further by retaining their future projects through to COD.

The portfolio is utility-scale solar, storage and wind projects across ERCOT, MISO and the desire to expand into WECC too.

Job Description

The Director of Origination will be responsible for:Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact with cooperatives, corporates, utilities and governmental entities.

Origination: Negotiate and secure PPAs for the company to ensure they advance towards their key objectives.

Market Analysis: Monitor renewable energy markets, regulatory trends, and policy developments to inform strategic decisions. Provide market intelligence and competitive analysis to the business development team.

Business Strategy Development: Collaborate with the internal development, finance, and regulatory teams to ensure alignment between project origination efforts and company objectives.

Proposal Development & Negotiation: Draft and negotiate terms for power purchase agreements (PPAs), and other key contractual documents. Ensure that terms are aligned with company goals and risk appetite.

The Successful Applicant

The Director of Origination will have:Bachelor's degree in Business or relevant field. Advanced degree preferred.

8+ years of experience in Project Origination, Business Development, or a related role within the renewable energy sector (solar, wind, energy storage, etc.).

Highly experienced in negotiating and securing PPAs.

In-depth knowledge of renewable energy markets, technologies, and regulatory environments.

Experience in negotiating with QSEs.

Strong negotiation skills and experience in managing complex stakeholder relationships.

Well-networked individual with prior experience of working with applicable contacts at cooperatives, utilities, corporate and government entities.

Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
