Job Description

Having an effective data quality rule is an important success key factors for accurate, complete, and quality Regulatory Reporting. Regulatory Reporting data quality rule SME, who reports to department head of Reporting to Regulatory Reporting Data Control, focusing on defining and designing the effective regulatory reporting data quality rules for ranch report, BHC report, CUSO report, also responsible for continuous improvement of data quality rule and processes surrounding the data quality. The position requires the proficient knowledge of various regulatory reports and their data, including but not limited to FRY9C, FFIEC 009, FRY 15, FR Y-11, FR2052a, FFIEC 002 and FFIEC 019.

  • Understand the nature, characteristics, and usage of the data that are used to generate regulatory reporting for all reporting entity, i.e., Branch report, BHC report, CUSO report,
  • Analyze the data usage, by performing the assessments on data the lineage from end-to-end.
  • Define and design the data quality rules, by identifying the granular level of data quality rules (simple check to complicated rule) by understanding the needs and demands from report production team.
  • Lead the entire process of establishing the regulatory reporting data quality rule, with communicating with various internal stakeholders inside or outside of Controllers and initiate the establishment of the effective regulatory reporting data quality rules.
  • Coordinate with technical development team within the firm and automate the data quality rule to systematically operate the data quality.
  • In align with firm-wide data governance framework, build the Controllers departmental data quality rule framework.
  • Analyze the established or existing data quality rules and identify issues and remediate the rule.
  • Establish the effective data quality rules by ensuring data validity, conformity, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Perform the analysis on data quality rule exceptions and propose the potential solution from various aspects and improve the data quality rule.
  • Identify and place an effective control over data quality and communicate and coordinate control governance department team and assist them to operate control effectiveness.
  • Build the data quality rule dashboard using BI tool and present the results of data quality rule operation and escalate any issues surrounding the data quality
  • Establish, enhance, and maintain various data quality related departmental policies, standards, and procedure manuals for financial regulatory reporting data quality control.
  • Enforce data standards to related business stakeholders.
  • Conduct an assessment on impact on regulatory reporting data quality related processes, derived from regulatory reporting instruction change, and/or new product launch assessment.
  • Educate and train related stakeholders on sound data quality standards and control practice.

The Successful Applicant

  • Regulatory reporting data quality rule SME
  • Strong leaderhsip both in technical aspects and regulatory reporting data quality.
  • Understanding of major regulatory reports such as FRY9c, FFEIC009, FRY15, FRY11, FFIEC002, FFIEC019, and others.
  • Proficient IT skills with Microsoft Suite, Alteryx, PowerBI, Tableau, or SQL.
  • Ability of analyzing and assessing data tributes according to various regulatory agencies' guidelines and restrictions
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Good internal control understanding.
  • Knowledge of financial products
  • Experience with external or internal auditing is a plus
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience
  • Prior experience working with data qulity, data quality rule, data validation, and data control of financial regulatory reporting.


  • Required: BA/BS
  • Preferred: MA/MS/MBA
  • CPA is a plus
