The Director of Technical Sales and Operations - North America will lead all commercial and operational activities for the region. This executive-level role is based on-site and reports directly to the President. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales growth, managing day-to-day operations, leading regional teams, and ensuring alignment with global strategies. Our client is a fast‑growing manufacturer specializing in precision instrumentation, web tension measurement, web guiding, and conveyor belt scales used across industries such as metals, wire/cable, paper, textiles, and bulk materials.

Job Description

Sales & Market Expansion

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to expand market presence in the U.S. and Canada.
  • Build and manage a regional network of direct sales and independent representatives.
  • Partner closely with key customers to deliver tailored technical solutions in a range of industrial environments.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and key customer meetings.



Operations & Service Delivery

  • Oversee regional operations including order processing, logistics, customer service, and technical support.
  • Ensure seamless coordination with global manufacturing and supply chain teams.
  • Maintain high standards for customer satisfaction and service quality throughout the product lifecycle.



Leadership & Team Development

  • Hire, manage, and mentor a cross-functional team of sales engineers, inside sales staff, and service technicians.
  • Define clear performance metrics and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Design and implement scalable systems and processes to support growth.



Strategic Planning & Reporting

  • Provide regular performance reports and market feedback to executive leadership.
  • Analyze customer trends and competitive dynamics to inform product and commercial strategies.
  • Serve as the regional voice in global planning discussions and help shape long-term direction.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Director of Technical Sales & Operations - NA should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in technical sales and operations within instrumentation, automation, controls, or industrial equipment.
  • Proven leadership in scaling teams and growing revenue in a regional or national territory.
  • Strong understanding of industrial markets and customer requirements in process control, material handling, or manufacturing.
  • Ability to work on-site full-time, with up to 30% travel across North America.
