My client is a name brand, national GC with a diversified portfolio of exciting projects. They do $600M a year in revenue across a wide variety of disciplines and are looking to grow that with their full pipeline going through 2023. With projects in 47 states across multiple disciplines, they are looking to add a Director of Trades to continue to cultivate an atmosphere of success.

Description

  • Leadership - Build and maintain an efficient and effective Trades Team by recruiting, mentoring and managing a highly skilled team; structuring tasks, projects and deadlines to promote efficient of delivery, and promoting a strong and responsive service culture
  • Creating and maintain policies and procedures that further promote efficiencies and service-oriented culture
  • Financial responsibility- Monitor overall time and costs on project
  • Review Timesheets and track trends for time spent versus hours budgeted and estimated. Make recommendations to improve efficiencies
  • Operations - Support the enforcement of processes and best practices by establishing and communicating company standards and policies for work to be done onsite as well as best practices for project management
  • Identify areas of non-compliance as well as recommend/implement approved improvement plans
  • Training - Provide leadership in the continuous improvement of skills of team members
  • Create on the job training metrics that promote team members and provide a career track for team members
  • Scheduling - Work with foreman and Project managers to understand short term staffing needs as well as forecast long term project needs based on committed and potentially committed projects
  • Communicate weekly with foreman about work schedules and provide leadership and decision making to understand corporate priorities and project deadlines

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, or a related field
  • 10+ years of construction experience required
  • Management / supervisory experience required
  • Willingness to travel
  • Must possess strong organizational skills
