Our client is a fast-growing precision manufacturing company based in Windsor, CT. They specialize in the production of precision components utilized in aerospace, defense, and industrial markets. In the past 2 years they have made multiple successful acquisitions and are looking to continue growing organically and through M&A.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Client Relationship Management: Develop and nurture relationships with key stakeholders within the Department of Defense, including senior leadership, program managers, and procurement officers.
  2. Strategic Account Planning: Develop and implement strategic account plans to identify opportunities for growth within the DOD client base. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with client needs and organizational objectives.
  3. Solution Selling: Understand client requirements and pain points to effectively position our products and services as solutions that address their challenges. Present compelling value propositions and ROI analyses to drive sales opportunities.
  4. Contract Management: Oversee the entire contract lifecycle, from initial proposal development to contract negotiation and execution. Ensure compliance with government regulations and procurement policies.
  5. Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies relevant to the Department of Defense. Leverage market intelligence to identify new business opportunities and anticipate client needs.
  6. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, marketing, product development, and operations, to deliver exceptional service and support to DOD clients. Serve as the voice of the customer within the organization.
  7. Performance Metrics: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of account management initiatives. Provide regular reports and updates to senior leadership on account performance and business development activities.

The Successful Applicant


  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in selling products or services to government clients, preferably within the Department of Defense.
  • Deep understanding of government procurement processes, including familiarity with FAR and DFARS regulations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to leverage data and insights to drive informed decision-making.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment and collaborate with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
  • Active security clearance preferred.
