Job Description

EHS Specialist Duties:

  • Interpret and apply federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations.
  • Provide guidance on confined space, LOTO, PPE, hazard communication, ergonomics, electrical safety, and industrial hygiene programs.
  • Support reporting, auditing, and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Conduct facility inspections and audits; identify hazards and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
  • Analyze data and trends and communicate findings to leadership for continuous improvement.
  • Assist with incident investigations and create accurate documentation.
  • Maintain OSHA logs and calculate TRIR for all facilities.
  • Perform job hazard assessments and collaborate on process/equipment changes.
  • Track safety performance by business unit and benchmark against industry metrics.
  • Develop and deliver safety and environmental training programs.
  • Review and approve MSDSs and maintain MSDSOnline system.
  • Assist during external inspections and help prepare environmental compliance reports.

The Successful Applicant

EHS Specialist Skillset:

  • BA/BS in safety, environmental, or related discipline.
  • 2-4 years of experience with OSHA/EPA regulations in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • ASP or CHMM certification preferred.
  • Experience with industrial hygiene and environmental waste management highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence across all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort analyzing safety data and trends.
