My client is a long‑standing manufacturer of advanced, custom‑engineered industrial machinery and equipment. They support leading organizations across multiple sectors-including aerospace, medical device, and U.S. government operations-and have built a strong reputation for exceptional quality within their specialty. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a skilled Engineering Manager to oversee custom engineering and fabrication initiatives while directing a team of Mechanical and Process Engineers.

Job Description

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of mechanical, process, and design engineers.
  • Build a culture of accountability, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct and lead design reviews to ensure alignment with customer specifications and required codes or standards.
  • Establish, enhance, and enforce engineering procedures, standards, and workflows.
  • Ensure engineering output is manufacturable, cost‑effective, and delivered on schedule.
  • Partner with Production, Quality, and Procurement to ensure smooth handoff of designs into fabrication and assembly.
  • Support Sales, Project Management, and Operations in the development of technical proposals and project execution plans.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering required.
  • Master's degree or Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is a plus.
  • Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP) or equivalent proficiency is highly desirable.
  • 10+ years of engineering experience within manufacturing, custom fabrication, or similar technical environments.
  • 5+ years managing or leading engineering or design teams.
  • Proven success delivering engineered‑to‑order (ETO) or design‑build projects.
  • Strong proficiency with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and product data management (PDM/PLM) systems.
  • Familiarity with ASME BPVC Section VIII, ASME B31.3, or related industry codes and standards.
  • Experience with vacuum, cryogenic, pressure, or process systems is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and motivate high‑performing technical teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for various audiences.
