Specializing in complex sheet metal fabrications and assemblies, they serve industries including aerospace, commercial airlines, energy, and military. The company is FAA and EASA certified, with extensive capabilities for servicing turbine engine components and industrial gas turbines

Job Description

  • Lead a group of engineers and tool makers that develop process documentation and tooling to manufacture parts to customer supplied drawings and technical data.
  • Lead the New Part Introduction (NPI) process that takes new work from purchase order through successful first article on time and with zero defects.
  • Determines the engineering/technical organizational structure, required skill sets, and composition of the engineering organization.
  • Set metrics and objectives, drive accountability, and actively mentor the individuals to develop peak performance.
  • Drive company initiatives within the Engineering organization
  • Demonstrates a hands-on and collaborative approach to problem solving working directly with the engineering team as well as shop floor personnel.
  • Bring differing viewpoints and experiences to the table to Improve processes, reduce costs and have better equipment utilization.
  • Interact with customers and prospective customers to analyze their requirements and determine creative and cost-effective ways to manufacture that requirement.
  • Provide technical support to shop personnel.
  • Monitor and improve processes on existing parts and programs.
  • Review engineering personnel performance.
  • Ensure that all customer, company, and industry standards are adhered to.

The Successful Applicant

  • The qualified candidate must demonstrate training ability and be able to support internal customer needs.
  • They must be committed to quality, safety and communication and be a team player.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills are required.
  • Candidate should have a bachelor's in mechanical engineering and a minimum of 7 years of hands-on manufacturing process experience in a machine shop environment.
  • Degree is not required as long as work experience is there
  • Aerospace industry experience is preferred.
  • Experience with PFMEAs and Control Plans is a plus.
  • Must possess strong knowledge of blueprints, technical specifications, working in an ISO quality system and must be proficient with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office programs as well as CAD, preferably Solidworks.

What's on Offer

  • Salary: $135,000 - $145,000
  • Plus Bonus Based on Company & Sole Performance
