This position will report up through operations and will be responsible for managing the labs on site. The ideal candidate will have 3-7+ years of experience in an EHS based role within a Life Sciences company. If interested, please read on and apply to the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist - Biotech job based just North of Philadelphia, PA.Job DescriptionThe key responsibilities of the ESH Specialist are:Develop, implement, and manage EHS programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, NIH, USDA, and other regulations.Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses, focusing on biosafety, chemical safety, and occupational exposure risks.Provide safety training on laboratory procedures, animal handling, ergonomics, and emergency response.Oversee safe handling, storage, and disposal of biological agents, chemicals, and hazardous materials.Monitor vivarium operations to ensure best practices in animal care, facility sanitation, and exposure control.Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.Conduct EHS audits and inspections, identifying and mitigating hazards in research environments.Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies, assisting with compliance reporting, permitting, and inspections.Support sustainability initiatives, waste management programs, and environmental compliance efforts.Maintain and update safety data sheets (SDS), chemical inventories, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
