If interested, please read on and apply to the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist- Manufacturing job based near Newark, NJ.Job DescriptionThe Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist - Manufacturing will be responsible for the following:Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS programs, policies, and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.Lead and oversee the EHS team, providing guidance, support, and mentoring to ensure high performance and continuous improvement.Conduct regular inspections and audits of the manufacturing facility to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and implement appropriate controls and corrective actions.Lead investigations of accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and develop effective root cause analysis and corrective action plans to prevent recurrence.Coordinate and facilitate employee training programs on safety procedures, hazard recognition, emergency response protocols, and regulatory compliance.Maintain accurate records and documentation related to safety inspections, training sessions, incident reports, and regulatory permits.Stay abreast of changes in EHS regulations, standards, and industry trends, and ensure timely updates and implementation of necessary changes.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into planning, design, and implementation of new processes, equipment, and facilities.Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, conduct inspections, and ensure timely reporting and compliance with permits and regulatory requirements.Develop and implement strategies to promote a culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.Manage waste disposal, recycling programs, pollution prevention initiatives, and other environmental sustainability efforts.Lead emergency response preparedness efforts and coordinate with external agencies and stakeholders as necessary.Prepare and present regular reports on EHS performance, key metrics, trends, and improvement initiatives to senior management.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
