Job Description

The Environmetal Speciliast, Aerospace / Electronics Manufacturing will:

  • Manage environmental permits (NPDES/SPDES, bulk storage tanks, oil spill prevention, etc.)
  • Oversee environmental compliance inspections, recordkeeping, and regulatory reporting
  • Act as liaison with environmental agencies and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Maintain chemical inventory and hazardous waste management in accordance with RCRA
  • Oversee industrial wastewater treatment compliance and reporting
  • Lead environmental audits and support EHS initiatives
  • Develop and revise environmental policies and compliance programs
  • Prepare and submit required environmental reports (Tier II, EPCRA TRI, RCRA, industrial waste discharge, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with air, water, waste, and hazardous material transportation (DOT) regulations
  • Drive compliance-driven projects, including evaluation, equipment selection, and training implementation
  • Support facility sustainability initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
  • Provide training and guidance on environmental regulations and best practices
  • Be onsite at our Afton, NY facility

The Successful Applicant

Overview:

2-10+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing, with expertise in EPA/OSHA regulations, plating processes, hazardous materials management, audits, inspections, and reporting. CHMM, ASP, or CSP a plus.

  • 2-10+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment in an environmental, health / safety focused position
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance (EPA, OSHA)
  • Experience in plating processes is highly desirable
  • Background in hazardous materials management and safety programs
  • Ability to develop and implement environmental health and safety initiatives
  • Certifications such as CHMM, ASP, or CSP are a plus
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for process improvement
  • Experience conducting audits, inspections, and risk assessments
  • Ability to manage environmental reporting and regulatory interactions
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills for cross-functional collaboration
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
  • Local to Afton, NY or open to relocation (package provided)
