Job Description

The key responsibilities of the Field Service Engineer are:

  • Provide on-site installation, commissioning, and training for our medical devices at customer locations.
  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on medical equipment to ensure consistent and reliable operation.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, both hardware and software, to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted usage of medical devices.
  • Collaborate closely with the customer support and engineering teams to identify and implement effective solutions for complex technical problems.
  • Maintain accurate records of service visits, technical reports, and documentation of equipment performance and repairs.
  • Proactively communicate with customers to provide updates on service activities, technical recommendations, and best practices.
  • Act as a technical advisor to customers, offering insights and guidance on device operation, maintenance, and optimization.
  • Stay current with industry trends, product developments, and technological advancements to provide innovative solutions and recommendations to customers.
  • Participate in training programs, workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions to continuously enhance your technical skills and knowledge of our product portfolio.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, protocols, and quality standards while performing on-site service activities.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Field Service Engineer will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred, or relevant work experience
  • Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer, preferably in a regulated industry.
  • Strong understanding of operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Experience in automation or robotics is highly preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a systematic approach to technical challenges.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and internal teams.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to customer sites around the Greater Boston area.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to operate independently with minimal supervision.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage service records, documentation, and reports.
