I'm currently working on an exclusive search for a client that is looking to fill a Financial Analyst - Operations position near downtown Chicago. Our client is the largest global producer of equipment in their niche. They are a multi-billion dollar organization that has been around for almost 100 years and have over 40,000 employees worldwide.

Job Description

  • Manage the monthly close cycle
  • Prepare the monthly and quarterly operations presentations with various operations department heads
  • Report on operations KPIs including cost variances, productivity indicators, and more
  • Analyze inventory account balances
  • Review business critical investment cases
  • Maintain the capital expenditure trackers and fixed assets register
  • Identify process improvement and cost reduction opportunities
  • Update the company's cost accounting model and procedures
  • Assist the business teams in product costing
  • Provide budget input and support for operations-related costs
  • Support periodic cost rolls, cycle counting, and yearly physical inventory
  • Optimize operations-related flows in the ERP system with the IT team
  • Support the Controller and CFO on any special projects as needed

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Manufacturing/distribution experience preferred
  • Public accounting experience with manufacturing clients preferred
  • Experience in inventory costing and cost accounting
  • ERP system experience (JD Edwards a huge plus)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience interacting with internal and external business partners
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
