Our client is a large startup Manufacturing company looking for a Senior Accountant- Manufacturing to report into the Controller. The position is fully remote and it is a newly created position in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Description
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the following:
- Perform general monthly close activities such as preparing journal entries, reconciling Balance Sheet and P&L accounts and performing analytical reviews.
- Keep detailed records of accounting entries.
- Assist with system implementations.
- Support the external reporting process, coordinating with the external reporting team to ensure that key inputs are provided timely.
- Support improvement and building of appropriate systems and processes to facilitate timely and accurate closing of monthly financial statements.
- Support process improvement activities including enhancing current financial processes, and leverage technology to increase effectiveness.
- Handles issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level team members.
- Other tasks. Projects and Analytics as assigned.
The Successful Applicant
The succesful applicant will have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 1-4+ years of accounting experience
- Must possess a strong knowledge of accounting principles, including GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley and internal controls.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Have a sound understanding of Revenue Recognition under ASC 606.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, ADP, and Workday is preferred, not required.
- Attention to detail and accuracy and ability to manage time effectively.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities with deadlines, without sacrificing quality.
- Must demonstrate initiative and be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to thrive in fast paced environment.
- Flexibility in approach to performing job responsibilities.
- Possess a mind-set to utilize technology to increase efficiencies.
- Ability to work well independently and as a team member in a time sensitive environment.
- Ability to develop workstream/project plan, communicate plan effectively to relevant parties and drive adherence to due dates.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
