About Our Client

Global Foundation with an amazing mission is looking for an HRBP to join their growing team. This position will start as a 1 year fixed term contract with the potential to go perm. Position is located in midtown Manhattan 2-3 days per week. Compensation is $140k-$170k depending on experience.

Job Description

Working with the Foundation's leadership to develop and implement organizational design and workforce planning strategies. Collaborate with organizational leadership to create and implement resource planning models to identify competency, knowledge and talent gaps and develop specific programs for the filling of the gaps.

In collaboration with other partners and in consultation with the foundation's leadership, assisting with the design and development of strategies related to employee relations and performance management and providing support for managers and staff on employee relations, and performance management.

Managing and resolving complex employee relations issues. Conducting effective, thorough and objective investigations in partnership with the Office of Legal Services and recommending action for sensitive and complex situations. Serving as employee relations support for the regional offices.

Providing day-to-day performance management guidance to managers (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).

Partnering with the Global Director to develop and incorporate the foundation's global diversity, equity and inclusion initiative for the P&C partner function, ensuring harmonization across all of the foundation's offices to allow for the full development and performance of all employees.

Managing the foundation's onboarding and offboarding processes to maximize employee experience.

Playing a strategic role in the direction of the people management function in the organization by undertaking appropriate diagnostic measures. Analyzing trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs and policies.

Facilitating effective implementation of new people management initiatives in different departments and levels of the foundation, as appropriate.

Acting as a liaison between departmental heads and management and the Centers of Expertise, ensuring CoEs are brought in to develop recruitment plans, identify training needs, and be responsive to total rewards needs. They also provide coaching and mentoring support where required.

Ensure practices are aligned, uniformed and equitably implemented across P&C partner function.

Conducts research, consistently develops and equitably implements P&C procedures and policies. They also analyze and report on KPIs and trends related to human capital in the foundation and use these findings to develop strategies and solutions to issues that affect the foundation's employee relations.

Partners with the Talent Acquisition team to develop contract terms for new hires, promotions and transfers.

The Successful Applicant

  • Master's degree or equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience across a range of competencies in human resources as an HR business partner/generalist.
  • Global experience required
  • Vast knowledge of labor laws and practices.
  • Prior experience working in a private foundation, university, or large, global non-profit organization is preferred. Alternatively, a mix of corporate and non-profit experience, or a combination of corporate experience with strong volunteer/non-profit board experience.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship skills. Propensity for active engagement with staff at all levels. Ability to quickly establish and build trusted working relationships with management, staff and vendors; maintain confidences and inspire trust.
  • Outstanding coaching, consultative and influencing skills. Ability to listen and learn from diverse perspectives.
