Our client is a pharmaceutical company that values innovation, and its primary technology uses the prevention of nuclear export as a means of treating patients.

Job Description

  • Actively seek out and manage research collaborations, strategic partnerships, and/or in- and out-licensing prospects with biotech and pharmaceutical firms.
  • In accordance with the organization's vision, strategy, and long-term plans, establish and develop strong relationships with important internal stakeholders, possible collaboration partners, and other highly valuable business partnerships.
  • Take charge of directing the company's strategic plans for business expansion and development.
  • Keep up with developments in competitive intelligence by following this field's research and development.
  • Responsible for creating a thorough and timely due diligence package that includes a thorough evaluation of external prospects and makes suggestions for approval.
  • Create presentations that are impactful, high-level, and brief for senior management, important clients, and stakeholders.
  • Clearly communicate the corporate narrative, platform, R&D initiatives, technology approach, and goal of the organization.
  • Control every step of the deal-making process, from opportunity to proposal to choice to contracting.
  • Take the initiative in deal and transaction structuring, negotiation, and execution.
  • Keep the organization's leadership and scientific teams well-informed on business plans, initiatives, and progress.

The Successful Applicant

  • Ph.D in science
  • 12+ years experience in pharma/biotech industry
  • 6+ years of business development experience
  • Significant in-licensing and out-licensing experience
  • Proven capacity to interact directly with biopharmaceutical partners and to develop their commercial and research agendas through collaborative relationships.
  • Extensive knowledge of drug discovery, development, and commercialization in the biotech and biopharma industries, with the ability to apply this expertise to pinpoint partner and internal needs and create win-win alliances.
