The HR Business Partner will act as the primary HR contact for the NYC office, overseeing the full employee lifecycle, including employee relations, performance management, onboarding/offboarding, training and development, and policy creation and updates. You'll work closely with the global HR Director and partner with HR colleagues across Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, and Learning & Development to deliver a best-in-class employee experience.

This international organization in the travel/tourism space is looking for an HR Business Partner to support their NYC office, which houses approximately 200 employees, primarily within the commercial teams including sales, marketing, and business development. This is a unique standalone opportunity in their Manhattan location, ideal for an HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, global environment and is comfortable operating autonomously while staying closely connected to a larger HR network.

Job Description



  • Serve as the trusted HR partner and advisor to managers and employees in the NYC office.


  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues and conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations.


  • Drive performance management processes, including coaching managers on performance improvement and development plans.


  • Own onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a seamless and compliant employee experience.


  • Collaborate with global HR teams to localize and implement training and development initiatives that align with business goals.


  • Lead policy creation, updates, and communication for the NYC office, ensuring alignment with global HR policies and compliance with local labor laws.


  • Provide guidance on organizational structure, workforce planning, and employee engagement strategies tailored to the NYC office needs.


  • Utilize data to drive decision-making and support continuous improvement in HR processes.


  • Maintain strong knowledge of HR compliance and employment laws in New York and across the U.S.

The Successful Applicant



  • 3+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist capacity.


  • Prior experience supporting an employee population of 200+ people, ideally within a global or matrixed organization.


  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating with global and cross-functional teams.


  • Strong knowledge of U.S. labor laws, with a focus on New York employment regulations.


  • Proven experience in employee relations, performance management, and organizational development.


  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and influence across all levels.


  • High level of discretion, integrity, and professionalism.


  • Experience in commercial or corporate environments such as sales or marketing preferred.


  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; HR certification (SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR) is a plus.
