Job Description

  • Drive HR strategies from "the top down" by working with the Head of HR on priorities including, but not limited to, L&D, recognition and reward programs, organizational design, performance management, and talent planning
  • Manage full cycle recruitment process
  • Support the implementation and training of performance and reward management road-maps
  • Manage a variety of employee of relations matters with confidentiality and empathy
  • Compile and analyze HR data, as needed
  • Act as a cheerleader for the company's Mission and Values throughout the organization
  • Act as an advisor to leaders and staff on relevant employment laws, policies and procedures, and HR best practices
  • Manage visa and sponsorship application process
  • Thought-lead and assist in implementing various employee engagement programs

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Organizational Leadership
  • Relevant HR experience, preferably in digital news publishing, that includes partnership with department managers and leadership
  • Demonstrated acumen of U.S. employment law and regulations
  • Expert-level user of Excel, Google Docs & Sheets
  • Empathetic and active listener with superb writing and communication skills
  • Collaborative attitude and ability to interact with all levels of stakeholders
  • High EQ, sense of humor, and situational awareness
  • Quick thinking, highly organized, and able to manage multiple tasks and demands simultaneously in a very fast paced news environment
  • Process driven with a consultative approach to resolving complex issues
  • Experience administering HRIS including Oracle, SuitePeople, ADP, TotalSource, and ADP Workforce preferred
