About Our Client

We are is an elementary and middle school located in Long Island City, Queens that serves about 650 students across grades K-8. We are located just minutes from Manhattan (two stops outside of Manhattan on the F, N, and W train lines) and Long Island City's growing waterfront district, thriving arts community, and rapid residential growth. Job Description

  • Staffing
  • Responsible for the org-wide Table of Organization and collaborating with school directors on staffing needs & decisions to ensure that staff resources are allocated to best serve our mission, which may include but is not limited to facilitating retention strategies, maintaining the organizational chart, reviewing/consulting on directors' recruiting priorities
  • Responsible for a comprehensive Recruitment & Selection program that attracts top talent and reflects our values, mission and vision, including but not limited to collaborating with and supervising the HR Coordinator (Recruiter) overseeing all hiring decisions, supporting with offer calls and candidate interviews as may be needed
  • Conduct interviews with leadership-level candidates (managers, deans, and directors) and faculty/staff positions
  • Responsible for org-wide Succession Planning, which may include but is not limited to collaborating with leaders around succession in their teams
  • Responsible for org-wide Offer Documentation to ensure that every employment is properly documented, which may include supervising the HR Coordinator on the annual returning offer cycle, overseeing offer documentation for each candidate and employee
  • Responsible for org-wide HR Budget, including annually updating the compensation roster, consulting with Sr. Finance Manager, providing consultation to leaders

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • 5-7 years of HR, talent management, or school management experience with increasing responsibilities and achievements
  • Experience managing and developing teams and individuals
  • Experience working in a nonprofit organization or school
  • Preferred: Master's degree in business, HR, education, or a related field from an accredited college or university
