About Our Client

My client is based in Houston, Texas. They provide sales and service of Industrial air compressors, dryers, blowers, chillers, and nitrogen and oxygen generators.

Job Description

Job Duties & Accountabilities:

  • Contribute to the development of human resources strategy.
  • Implement plans that improve the talent capability of the Operations function through performance assessment and root cause
  • Lead contract negotiations, CBA administration and grievance processes for a Teamsters represented plant.
  • Lead employee and labor relations to ensure optimal performance within our community. Support operations and plant leaders to ensure consistent application of company policy and practices.
  • Establish relationships and become a trusted advisor and business partner to people leaders including senior leaders.
  • Lead, coach and train leaders to develop their teams through effective coaching, performance management and assessment.
  • Drive employee engagement through effective communication and execution of action plans.
  • Develop strategic workforce plans and provide input to Talent Acquisition to meet business needs, including supporting the selection process for salaried and hourly positions.
  • Lead development of compensation, incentive, and recognition programs to attract and retain employees.

The Successful Applicant

Required Competencies:

  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in HR Business Partner role
  • Supported unionized manufacturing environment
  • Ability to build and maintain credibility with senior leaders, hiring managers and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to operate in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to tailor communications
  • Adept at influencing, conflict resolution and coaching at all levels of the organization
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365, ATS and HRIS
