Job Description



  • Recruitment and Onboarding:
    • Manage the full recruitment process, including job postings, interviewing, and hiring of staff and volunteers.
    • Develop and implement effective onboarding programs for new hires.


  • Employee Relations:
    • Foster a positive workplace culture through effective communication and conflict resolution.
    • Act as a point of contact for employee concerns and support them in resolving workplace issues.


  • Performance Management:
    • Develop and manage performance appraisal processes to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
    • Provide guidance and support to managers on performance management best practices.


  • Training and Development:
    • Identify training needs and coordinate professional development opportunities for staff.
    • Implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement and retention.


  • Compliance and Policy Management:
    • Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
    • Develop, update, and implement HR policies and procedures.


  • Data Management and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate HR records and metrics to support organizational planning.
    • Prepare reports on HR activities, including recruitment, turnover, and employee engagement.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Previous experience working within a non-profit.
  • Previous experience working with unions.
  • Ability to take charge and propose solutions.
  • Ability to think creatively and think big picture.
  • Strong written, verbal, and analytical skills.

What's on Offer

  • Annual base salary of $100,000 - $120,000
