Our client is a global financial services and reinsurance brokerage firm with nearly 300 employees and is growing. The Minnesota office is in Edina.

Job Description

Responsibilities of the Human Resources Specialist include:

  • Partner with the Human Capital team to support employees through the HR life-cycle (onboarding, offboarding, compensation, benefits & wellness, payroll, HRIS, employee engagement, employee relations, etc.)
  • Own the on-boarding process from candidate offer acceptance through 90 day check-in (eg background check, new hire paperwork, orientation, etc…)
  • Function as an expert for Workday administration - HR transactions, business process configuration, and design, including advising the HR team, managers, and employees in the proper use of the system
  • Manage the ongoing maintenance of the HR organization structure in Workday
  • Support automation and process improvements across all HR Systems
  • Assist in the review, testing, implementation, training, and communication of Workday system changes and upgrades including the bi-annual Workday releases
  • Support on ensuring that Workday is fully integrated with key business systems
  • Perform detailed manipulation of complex data via tools such as spreadsheets and EIB's
  • Support training and engagement to ensure our key stakeholders are fully utilizing Workday
  • Manage payroll changes for employees
  • Assist with annual compliance requirements/filings
  • Provide support on ad-hoc projects

The Successful Applicant

The successful Human Resources Specialist candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree is strongly desired
  • 2-5 years of Human Resources related experience; industry experience in Financial Services, Insurance is desired
  • Excellent knowledge of Workday, covering HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Absence, Learning, Recruiting and Time Tracking
  • Excellent operational skills e.g. processes, procedures, data analysis
  • Solid Excel skills
  • Detail oriented and resourceful
  • Collaborative and team-oriented
  • Communication and stakeholder management
