About Our Client

This opportunity will join a Development firm who focus on utility-scale solar, storage and wind projects across MISO, ERCOT + PJM. This role will report to the President and be the sole point of contact for all aspects of interconnection. With a small team (10 people), joining the firm now will offer the successful candidate an opportunity for long term progression based on the company's overall headcount goals in the next 5 years.

Job Description

The Interconnection Lead will be responsible for:

  • As the Interconnection Lead specializing in PSSE software, you will be responsible for overseeing interconnection projects within our organization, with a focus on utilizing PSSE software for power system analysis and planning.
  • You will play a critical role in managing the technical aspects of interconnection projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and optimizing system performance.
  • This team is responsible for managing all interconnection queue positions supporting projects under active development.
  • This includes handling all communications with ISO/RTOs and utilities and developing a comprehensive interconnection strategy for every development project.
  • Support annual company goals and manage strategic interconnection initiatives including greenfield project siting in existing markets including: ERCOT & MISO.
  • This position will support similar functions in new market areas as well.
  • Leadership of interconnection applications and study evaluations for utility-scale solar and battery storage queue projects.
  • Oversee negotiation of final interconnection agreements.
  • Provide technical support to the development organization and other areas of the company as necessary.

The Successful Applicant

The Interconnection Lead will have:

  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in power system engineering, extensive experience with PSSE software, and a proven track record of successfully managing interconnection projects
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in the electric utility or renewable industry
  • Excellent verbal, written, technical and presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, problem-solving
  • Understanding of power flow and other cost modeling tools including: PSSE, TARA, PROMOD or PowerWorld
  • Strong work ethic and exceptionally high work standards
