With this growth, they are now looking to bring on an Inventory Accountant to join their team.Reporting into the CFO, you will be responsible with assisting in various accounting functions including month-end, cost accounting, inventory analysis, and more!Job DescriptionMaintain and reconcile inventory accounts in the general ledger.Perform regular inventory reconciliations between physical counts and system records.Ensure accuracy in inventory valuation and costing, including standard and actual cost variances.Oversee product costing and analyze manufacturing costs.Monitor and report on inventory adjustments, shrinkage, and obsolescence.Conduct variance analysis and provide insights on inventory fluctuations.Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes related to inventory.Prepare journal entries and adjustments for inventory-related transactions.Ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS) during financial close.Implement and maintain internal controls for inventory management.Ensure adherence to company policies and audit requirements.Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.Prepare detailed inventory reports, including inventory turnover ratios and valuation summaries.Provide management with insights into inventory performance and cost-saving opportunities.Assist in developing inventory-related financial models and forecasts.Work closely with the operations, procurement, and warehouse teams to ensure inventory accuracy.Identify and implement process improvements for better inventory management.Assist in system upgrades and enhancements related to inventory modules.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
