Job Description

  • Manage and optimize IT asset inventory within the organization.
  • Develop and implement procedures for tracking company assets.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure IT assets are accounted for and in good condition.
  • Collaborate with the technology team to assess and identify necessary inventory.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses for IT purchases and initiatives.
  • Develop strategies for disposing of or reassigning obsolete or unnecessary IT assets.
  • Provide detailed reports on inventory levels, equipment conditions, and costs to department heads.
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in IT and financial services.

The Successful Applicant

1. Strong Understanding of Asset Management as a Process:

  • Not just tracking physical hardware but managing the full lifecycle of IT assets.
  • Familiar with IT Asset Management (ITAM) or Software Asset Management (SAM) processes.



2. Software Asset Management (Not Just Hardware):

  • Experience managing software licenses, compliance, entitlements, renewals.
  • Understands licensing models (SaaS, perpetual, subscription).
  • Can handle audits, vendor negotiations, and license reconciliation.



3. Tools and Systems Knowledge:

  • Experience with asset management tools (e.g., ServiceNow ITAM, Flexera, Snow, Lansweeper, etc.).
  • Understanding of how these systems are configured and used to support the asset lifecycle.



4. Process-Oriented Mindset:

  • Knows how to define, improve, or manage asset management processes (e.g., procurement, onboarding, deployment, retirement).
  • Understands data governance related to asset inventories.
